The role is offered as a temporary contract, renewed on a month-to-month basis.
The Manager, Quality Control (Temporary) is responsible to ensure work performed on aircraft undergoing maintenance by Voyageur Aerotech is completed IAW company policies and procedures and that these policies and procedures are complying to Canadian and foreign aviation regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor changes to Canadian and foreign aviation regulations.
- Monitor new / revised Airworthiness Directives (AD) (Canadian, US and EASA).
- Responsible for maintaining the company aircraft maintenance templates in the CMP.
- Track future maintenance for aircraft managed by Aerotech.
- Produce reports related to aircraft undergoing maintenance.
- Review all documentation for aircraft modifications to be carried out, identifying any additional maintenance requirements of the modification and report requirements to customers.
- Coordinate with planning to ensure developed work scopes meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Correspond with Canadian and foreign regulatory authorities for the application of flight permits, aircraft registrations, and the filing of any other documents as requested by customers and the Voyageur group of companies.
- Complete applications for and oversee the completion of documents supporting the importation and exportation of Aircraft.
- Create and submit Service Difficulty reports to Transport Canada for customer aircraft undergoing maintenance.
- Process document change requests for amendments to Maintenance Forms..
- Liaise with customers on matters relating to Quality.
- Ensure weight & balance amendments and Equipment List are created / amended for customer aircraft as required.
- Provided guidance and interpretation of Aviation regulations and company policy to personnel engaged in maintenance and modification.
- Complete Aircraft Certification Authority interviews administer testing and process required documentation for maintenance engineers requesting signing authority.
- Assist the SRMS department in investigating any occurrences involving maintenance.
- Complete vendor quality audits.
Technical Records/Planning:
- Responsible to provide guidance and oversite to technical records personnel ensuring data is entered correctly and in a timely manner.
- Assist Technical Records with questions related to the tracking of maintenance.
- Assist Technical Records with questions related regulatory compliance.
- Audit completed work packages to ensure compliance to established standards.
- Monitoring of component and inspection tracking in the CMP.
- To review the technical records error data base, identify and asses to create and implement action plans to address undesirable trends.
- Assist Maintenance Planning to ensure planning is completed efficiently and accurately.
Technical Publications and Training:
- Maintain technical publications within the approved budget.
- Ensure the technical publication data base is maintained, current and accessible to employees.
- Responsible for auditing incoming technical publications for changes that may affect maintenance requirements and or procedures.
- Collaborate with training personnel for the review, amendment, and delivery of Voyageur AMO training programs to the Voyageur group of companies.
- Liaise with the training Coordinator/Administrator to ensure Aerotech staff have all applicable training for the position held.
Manufacturing:
- Liaise with the training Coordinator/Administrator to ensure Aerotech staff have all applicable training for the position held.
- Oversee the auditing of Aeronautical Product records.
- Managing the establishment of statements of conformity.
- Reporting any Service Difficulty Reports related to the manufacture of Aeronautical Products under the Manufacturing Certificate.
- Complete Manufacturing Certification Authority Interviews administer testing and process required documentation for Engineers requesting manufacturing signing authority.
Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:
- 5+ years of experience managing Quality Control department.
- Ability to understand technical documents and manuals, ensuring that products and parts meet quality standards.
- Ability to interpret Canadian and foreign aviation regulations and how they affect the company policies and procedures.
- Ability to problem solve and suggest improvements, implement changes.
- Ability to identify issues that can hinder performance.
- Ability to understand the unique requirements of customers or projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally.
- Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.
- Working knowledge of computerized maintenance programs.
- Working knowledge of Window based programs.
- Work effectively within both an individual and team environment.
