About the role

Position Summary The Director, Commercial Analytics is accountable for the overall strategy, governance, performance, and continuous improvement of rebate accounting and collection, and commercial analytics around company purchases. This role leads the organization’s commercial finance and reporting function, ensuring accurate financial oversight, rebate accountability, and actionable commercial insights that support strategic decision-making across the business. The role partners closely with Commercial Advisory, Group & Local Procurement, Group & Local Finance, Distribution, Business Intelligence, and external trading partners to drive commercial performance optimization, financial accountability, operational excellence, and informed business decision-making. This is a temporary (12-month contract) position. Scope of Role Accountability for rebate reporting, forecasting, accounting, and collection Leadership of commercial analytics and reporting functions across the organization, including reporting strategy, governance and related business intelligence initiatives Oversight of financial and operational reporting related to supplier and trading partner programs and, in particular, rebate management Collaboration with Commercial Advisory, Group & Local Procurement, Group & Local Finance, Distribution, and external trading partners Leadership of financial reporting modernization, reporting automation, and continuous improvement initiatives Support of commercial strategy, contract evaluation, and supplier program implementation Key Responsibilities

  1. Commercial Finance, Rebates & Reporting Leadership Own end-to-end performance and effectiveness of rebate accounting, collection, and commercial financial reporting. Define, maintain, and govern commercial and rebate reporting frameworks, dashboards, and scorecards. Lead annual clinic target alignment across business categories; provide forecasting and variance analysis. Deliver monthly trading-partner and leadership insights; escalate trends, risks, and opportunities with recommendations. Drive enhancements to reporting tools and visibility; provide ad hoc analysis on purchases, rebates, profitability, and performance.
  2. Commercial Operations Ensure accurate, consistent commercial program reporting processes and stakeholder alignment. Resolve reporting discrepancies and collection issues with internal teams and trading partners. Support onboarding and reporting integration for new supplier agreements and programs. Strengthen governance, controls, and process efficiency across rebate and program operations.
  3. Commercial Strategy & Contract Support Assess new contracts to quantify financial, reporting, and operational impacts and requirements. Partner with Procurement and Commercial teams on feasibility, integration approach, and implementation planning. Contribute to tenders, strategic reviews, and steering forums with data-driven analysis and recommendations. Enable negotiations and supplier program decisions by evaluating value, risks, and alignment to business objectives.
  4. Financial Reporting, Automation & Continuous Improvement Improve commercial financial reporting scalability, accuracy, and operational usability through continuous improvement. Champion strong financial governance, reporting consistency, and informed decision-making across commercial programs. Lead initiatives focused on: Automation, process optimization, and streamlined close/reporting cycles Enhanced visibility and self-serve reporting for stakeholders Data governance, standardization, and quality controls Modernized reporting architecture and scalable delivery Act as subject matter expert for rebate/commercial reporting methodologies and interpretation.
  5. Governance, Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership Lead governance routines and performance reviews for rebates, commercial reporting, and analytics operations. Provide concise insights and recommendations to senior leadership; act as escalation point for reporting issues and operational risks. Build strong cross-functional and trading-partner relationships to improve transparency and outcomes. Coach, mentor, and develop team members across analytics and commercial support. Key Success Measures Accurate, timely rebate forecasts, reporting, and clear variance explanations Improved automation, scalability, and effectiveness of commercial financial reporting Stronger data integrity, controls, and efficient processes across programs High stakeholder confidence and effective cross-functional collaboration Successful integration of new agreements and reporting requirements Qualifications Experience Multi-year experience in commercial finance, financial reporting, accounting, business intelligence, or related functions Experience leading cross-functional financial reporting or commercial operations initiatives and teams Experience working with commercial reporting, rebate programs, or supplier agreements Experience within healthcare, distribution, retail, or related industries is considered an asset Knowledge & Skills Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling capabilities Advanced proficiency with Excel, financial reporting tools, and Power BI Experience working with large datasets and reporting systems Understanding of rebate management and commercial agreements Familiarity with SQL, data transformation, and reporting automation is considered an asset Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills Experience driving process optimization and financial reporting modernization initiatives Bilingual capability in English / French would be a significant asset Key Characteristics Strategic thinker with strong commercial and financial acumen Financially focused and operationally disciplined Collaborative and relationship-oriented leadership style Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset Ability to balance strategic priorities with operational execution Adaptable and comfortable navigating ambiguity Strong communicator across business and technical stakeholders Well respected coach and leader for small teams Living Our Values Through Leadership This role is more than a checklist of accountabilities - it’s a reflection of how we show up as leaders in our practice, with our teams, and across our network.
