POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Compliance Engineer Co-op, Summer 2026 (Co-op/Internship – 4 months)
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
POSITION REPORTING TO: Director, Engineering
NO. OF POSITIONS: One (1)
LOCATION: Mississauga, ON (5 days on site)
TERM: 4 Months
POSITION STATUS: This job posting reflects a newly budgeted position within the organization. The role has been approved and is intended to be filled as part of our current workforce planning. This is a new position and does not represent a backfill for an existing vacancy.
General Description
Support engineering processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality functions while gaining knowledge and understanding with the engineering processes and ways of working at Bora Mississauga.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate/facilitate in the Engineering audit program as per regulatory requirements.
- Support data requests for internal/customer/regulatory audits and act as an engineering resource for coordination of answers to Audit findings.
- Archive the engineering-related documentation and update the document tracker accordingly.
- Prepare and present a monthly report to the Engineering Leadership Team on the state of the engineering EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) and Quality tasks. Keep the related action log up to date and prepare the meeting minutes.
- Support to ensure that Engineering is compliant with the latest applicable EHS, Quality or Engineering alerts by taking part in the assessment, definition of action plans and answering coordination when applicable.
- Support to ensure that the site keeps up to date and compliant on all Mississauga Bora Engineering Standards by facilitating the completion and making sure the gaps are properly identified and tracked.
- Participate in site-wide processes such as Contractor Management, Pest Control, and Vendor qualifications.
- Track engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) & Master Forms updates. Support the SOP author to make sure all documents are current and reviewed on time.
- Support the Plant Recovery Report process and Root Cause Analysis as requested.
- Facilitate the process of tracking and managing notifications, including Plant Maintenance Deviations, Plant Recovery Forms, Quality Deviations and Planned Change Notifications.
Qualifications
Experience and Skills:
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices, EHS standards, and pharmaceutical industry practices would be an asset but not mandatory.
Education
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, etc.)
Working Conditions
- Office and plant environment.
- Works 7.5 hours/day, occasionally longer hours when addressing emergencies and projects.
Compensation range
$53,000 - $55,000 annually
