This includes promoting, planning, and supporting the wise and sustainable use of natural resources, and protecting, restoring, and stewarding the environment for the social and economic benefit of all Northwest Territories residents.
Job Information
The Accounts Payable Clerk plays a key role in the processing of accounts payable documents for the Forest Management Division and ensuring that processes are in accordance with the Finance and Administration Manual and other Acts and regulations. You must have the ability to take initiative and implement workable solutions both inside established practices and outside when required. You will be often relied upon to identify and implement resolutions where none are readily available in standard practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audits and processes supplier/contract payments.
- Supervisor and train up to two casual staff annually during the summer season (May to September).
- Ensures the appropriate coding and signatures are affixed to the contract.
- Maintains open order files for contracts, requisitions for purchasing or agreements at the appropriate budgetary level.
- Assists program managers with the purchasing function to ensure proper procedures are followed.
- Control and reconcile incoming case, money orders, bank drafts and cheques.
Key Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 with a minimum of two years¿ experience in government accounting, completion of coursework in accounting and computer applications, or a diploma in Business Administration.
