Company Description The Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton Halton is the first point of contact for information and support for individuals and families living with dementia, mild cognitive impairment, or at high risk of developing dementia. The Society provides dementia education, support and counselling services, and health and wellness activities tailored to community needs. It serves multiple communities, including Brantford, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton, and Halton, offering accessible guidance and resources. Team members contribute to a mission-driven organization that is committed to improving quality of life for people affected by dementia. Role Description The Administrative Assistant – Office Of The CEO is a full-time, on-site role based in Hamilton, ON. This position supports the CEO and leadership team with day-to-day administrative tasks, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel and logistics. The role involves preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations, maintaining filing and records systems, and handling confidential information with discretion. The Administrative Assistant responds to inquiries, supports board and committee administration, organizes internal and external meetings and events, and assists with general office coordination to ensure smooth operations. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to the Society’s mission and values.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong administrative and organizational skills, including calendar management, meeting coordination, document preparation, and records maintenance. Candidates should possess proficiency with office software and tools, such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, email, and digital filing systems. Candidates should possess effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, professional correspondence, and interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders. Candidates should possess skills in time management, task prioritization, and attention to detail to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should possess the ability to handle confidential information, exercise sound judgment, and work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Relevant experience in administrative support, preferably in a nonprofit, healthcare, or community services environment, is beneficial. A diploma or degree in business administration, office management, or a related field is an asset, as is familiarity with dementia-related services or community support organizations.
