Job Details Position Title: Statistician and Research Analyst

Status: FT Admin Temp Contract

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Faculty/Department: Institutional Research and Analysis

Campus/Location: North Campus

Salary: $84,958.00

About The Statistician And Research Analysis Role Under the direction of the Director, Institutional Research and Analysis, the Statistician and Research Analyst will independently perform advanced statistical modeling along with research and analytical functions in support of evidence-based decision-making. The incumbent will possess extensive expertise in relevant software, tools, and advanced modeling and analytical methodologies and techniques, with the ability to rapidly learn new technologies and data assets in support of short-range and long-range planning, decision-making, and institutional data stewardship processes. This position requires solid verbal and written communication skills to translate complex findings for senior leadership, the ability to work collaboratively across the institution, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and confidentiality.

Education Master’s Degree in the fields of Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a similar field.

Experience/Skills

  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R, and/or Python) for statistical analysis, data modeling, and advanced analytics
  • Advanced data visualization and analytics expertise using tools including MS Office Suite and Tableau Experience analyzing datasets, developing scripts to extract, reformat and analyze data, and managing data flows
  • Experience designing data processes, flows, visualizations, and analyses
  • Ensuring confidentiality and appropriate use of institutional data
  • Previous post-secondary institutional research experience (desired)
  • Sound verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain complex information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and professionally independently and in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and confidentiality
