Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Department: Project Engineering
Position Reporting To: Facilities Operations Manager
Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent
Position Status: This job posting reflects a current vacancy within the organization. The position is active, approved, and intended to be filled as part of our staffing needs. This posting is for an existing and currently open position.
General Description:
To manage site electrical infrastructure including creating plans for maintenance, repair & servicing of all electrical equipment on the site as dictated by work schedules, priorities and available resources. Lead and manage site electrical projects.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead & develop the trade team including succession planning, skills development, accountability and empowerment.
- Technical supervision, investigation, and compliance with all related local codes. Support technical teams requirements with application of electrical/instrumental technology.
- Generation of technical reports relating to equipment failure/remediation performance, lead and manage RCA's.
- Accountable for the electrical aspect of Maintenance Life Plan development and maintenance strategies. Ensuring harmonization of maintenance practices whilst benchmarking and implementing best practices.
- Develop and maintain site standards for electrical systems to ensure compliance to the statutory and corporate policies and approved code of practices.
- To drive and promote electrical safety at all departments and business levels.
- To be the site expert in electrical systems for the site, including HV switching.
- Provide technical support to resolve major breakdowns .
- Take ownership and manage major electrical issues to resolution as they arise.
- Identify, contribute and participate in the continuous improvement process.
- Provide front line support to regulatory audits for electrical issues.
- Support the Project Engineering team with electrical drawing reviews and code adherence.
- Lead and manage projects related to Electrical Engineering.
Qualifications:
Experience & Skills
- 5-10 years of experience as an electrical engineer directly leading electrical designs for complex facilities, or as an electrical engineer in a pharmaceutical manufacturing, and automation environment.
- Familiarity with electrical system requirements in compliance with the electrical safety code, GMP plant operation principles and understanding of planning essentials with respect to pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Current license with PEO.
- Ability to work; in a multi-task environment, with multiple projects, with cross functional teams and independently.
- Contractor management skills.
- Strong knowledge of Good Engineering Practices, current GMPs, electrical safety code, building codes and applicable legislation.
- Sound analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.

Working Conditions:
- Duties include office environment but at times includes working in a plant environment with heavy machinery and presence of potential risks as high power, noise, working at heights.
- Regular shift of 8 hours, occasionally longer hours due to shutdowns, emergencies, on-call, and projects.
Compensation Range:
$81,240-101,550
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and internal equity.
