About the Role We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with hands-on Quality Assurance experience who has led requirements and analysis efforts on complex, high-stakes software products — not simple or small-scope builds. This role is for someone who has worked within a true product development lifecycle on initiatives involving multiple integrations, cross-functional teams, and significant technical or business complexity. Candidates must be able to speak in depth about the complexity of the products they've worked on, their role across the full SDLC (requirements → design → development → testing → release), and how they navigated ambiguity, competing stakeholder needs, and technical constraints. This is NOT a general project coordination role, and NOT a fit for candidates whose experience is limited to straightforward, low-complexity projects.
Key Responsibilities Lead requirements gathering and analysis for complex, multi-stakeholder software products, translating ambiguous or competing business needs into clear, actionable requirements. Own the requirements-to-release process across the full SDLC within an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment, coordinating closely with Product, Engineering, and QA. Break down complex features involving multiple system integrations or dependencies into well-structured epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Partner with QA to define test strategy and acceptance criteria for complex scenarios, and personally execute functional, regression, and UAT testing where needed. Act as the go-to analyst for the most technically or organizationally complex initiatives on the team. Facilitate Agile ceremonies and drive backlog prioritization decisions in collaboration with the Product Owner. Identify cross-functional risks and dependencies early, and proactively manage trade-offs among scope, timeline, and technical constraints. Mentor junior BAs/QA analysts and help establish best practices for requirements and testing on the team. Required Qualifications 12+ years as a Business Analyst, with a track record on complex software products — not general business, infrastructure, or low-complexity projects. Proven experience owning requirements across the full Agile SDLC on initiatives with significant technical complexity (e.g., multiple integrations, large stakeholder groups, or high-risk releases). Hands-on QA experience: test case design, test execution, defect tracking, and UAT coordination on complex features. Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities across large, cross-functional teams. Proficiency with Agile tooling (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally) for backlog management and defect tracking. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership. Ability to speak in detail about the complexity of specific products built — scale, integrations, team size, and your role across the SDLC. Preferred Qualifications Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP or PMI-PBA) and/or Agile (CSPO, CSM, PSM). ISTQB or equivalent QA/testing certification. Experience on SaaS or customer-facing digital products at scale. Familiarity with API-based/integrated architectures and reading technical documentation.
