About the role

Job Summary

The Manager of Diagnostic Imaging (DI) and Laboratory (Lab) plays a critical leadership role within the hospital’s clinical services team, overseeing the strategic, operational, and clinical functions of both departments. This individual is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient diagnostic services that support patient-centered care and align with organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

The successful candidate will lead a diverse, multidisciplinary team, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence in service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Current registration and good standing with CMRITO (College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario) and/or CMLTO (College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Radiological Technology, or a related discipline is required. Master’s degree in Health Administration, Leadership, or related field is preferred.

  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in a clinical setting, including three (3) years of clinical experience and two (2) years in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Experience in a unionized healthcare environment is strongly preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven leadership abilities with a demonstrated capacity to lead high-performing teams and drive change.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of EMR, PACS, LIS, and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, particularly under pressure.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply systems thinking to optimize patient flow, resource use, and quality outcomes.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, including weekends as needed. You may be scheduled on a manager on-call rotation that includes nights and weekends.
