Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX: As the Manager, Pattern Maker you provide leadership to the pattern team and support to the development team in their efforts to develop a consistent level of quality, fit and performance, promoting the Arc’teryx brand as one that exceeds customer expectations

We are a small, high-performing team that works closely with all aspects of product creation. The work we do behind the scenes supports designers and product developers to accomplish go-to-market deliverables. You will be part of a focused team of pattern makers, product developers, designers, and a cut and sew team that works on creating innovative product. Our team builds strong relationships with cross-functional partners to realize ideas into commercialized successes.
If you were in the Manager, Pattern Maker role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

- Providing leadership to pattern makers and leads, while building, coaching a high performing team of technical Pattern Makers, and owning the day-to-day leadership of the team
- Ensuring the pattern team interpret design intent, create prototype, sample and graded production patterns, ensuring that methods and documentation are consistent with known factory methods and processes
- Managing workload within the pattern making team to ensure development and production deadlines are met
- Maintaining regular communication with sample line and design team to ensure consistent methods for new technical construction are well communicated
- Working with design to identify Maker Phase needs for concepting and block development
- Working with design to establish standard fit by product category/end use and ensure product size/fit consistency, including consistent use of block pattern library by pattern team, working with design, development team on new blocks as required
- Establishing and maintaining computer pattern libraries, ensuring change consistency amongst all patternmakers.
- Developing and support pattern makers in building SOP’s / clear documentation and process to ensure smooth and an efficient process within the I2C calendar.
- Partnering with Proof of Concept and Commercialization teams to ensure a smooth transition throughout the I2C process and enabling Product Creation Development to deliver on time in full.
- Collaborating with Designers and Product Developers to establish and document product construction standards and illustrated technical specifications for all product
- Building business relationships with Designers, Cut and Sew, Product Developers, and Factory partners
- Ensuring accurate finished garment measurement specifications are developed and maintained each season
- Troubleshooting problems and ensuring regular maintenance of computer software and equipment
- Identifying the need and building best practice processes and procedures are in place and understood by all team members.
- Supporting Leadership to refine as needed to meet changing business needs and design integrity

- You have the ability to work from pattern blocks or from sketches
- You have knowledge of garment construction, grading specialty
- You have experience using Gerber PDS & Accumark
- You have experience leading a team
- You have effective verbal and written communications skills
- You have good attention to detail
- You have strong interpersonal skills
- You have the ability to work independently
- You have demonstrated management skills
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD $106,000 - CAD $133,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
