About the role

The Faculty of Arts is urgently seeking a qualified Contract Academic Staff (CAS) member to teach the remaining weeks of a course in the Department of Francophone Studies & Languages for the winter session at Brandon University. The course is expected to be delivered in person on campus; however, as this is an emergency posting, other modes of delivery may be considered.

Qualifications: Applicants must have successful teaching experience and relevant expertise in Francophone Studies & Languages or related field. They will hold a Master’s Degree in Francophone Studies & Languages, and those holding a Ph.D. or who are at the ABD stage may be preferred. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to Masters and are invited to contact the Chair of the Selection Committee on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials.

Salary: $7,857 per 3 credit hour course – 1.5 credit hour from March 9, 2026.

The successful candidate is expected to start on Monday, March 9th. Classes end on Wednesday, April 8th.

58:FREN:156 INTRODUCTORY FRENCH II- Monday-Wednesday, 3:40 – 5 pm
This is a continuation of 58:FREN:155.
(FREN 155: This course includes a comprehensive study of French grammar and vocabulary, oral practice, and an introduction to literary analysis and composition through the study of selected French and francophone texts. This course is designed for students with an excellent background with French language. Students must be able to understand grammatical explanations given in French and must be able to read texts of moderate difficulty.)
