IronCreek Energy Services is currently seeking a Shop Hand – Yard Hand – Shop Labourer based out of our Grande Prairie location and able to travel to clients at various locations across Western Canada, including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
Reporting to the VP Operations or their delegate, the Shop Labourer / Yard Hand is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the shop and yard by ensuring equipment, tools, materials, and work areas are clean, organized, maintained, and operationally ready. This position plays an important role in supporting field crews, mechanics, and operations staff through general labour duties, equipment preparation, parts running, minor maintenance tasks, and yard upkeep.
This is a hands-on position requiring mechanical aptitude, initiative, adaptability, and a strong commitment to safety. The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, yard, storage areas, and company equipment.
- Perform general labour duties including sweeping, pressure washing, painting, cleanup, and garbage removal.
- Complete minor maintenance and repair tasks using hand and power tools.
- Assist mechanics and field staff with shop and yard support duties as required.
- Run parts, pick up materials, and complete deliveries using company vehicles.
- Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, fueling, and minor servicing of equipment and tools.
- Stage and prepare tools, materials, and equipment for field crews and projects.
- Safely operate forklifts, skid steers, pressure washers, or other shop and yard equipment (if certified and authorized).
- Maintain inventory organization and assist with tracking tools and materials.
- Report damaged, missing, or unsafe equipment, tools, or conditions to supervision.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Ensure work areas are maintained in a safe and hazard-free condition.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Details
- PAY: $20 – $25 an hour depending on experience
- JOB TYPE: Full-time
- SHIFTS: Monday – Friday (some weekends & evenings as required)
- SCHEDULE: 8hr +/-
- LOCATION: Grande Prairie, AB

- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational requirements.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office considered an asset.
- Experience operating forklifts or other equipment considered an asset.
Education, Training, and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous labour, shop, warehouse, yard, or maintenance experience considered an asset.

Experience with painting, equipment cleaning, and general maintenance tasks preferred.

Mechanical, construction, oilfield, or industrial experience considered an asset.

Knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures.

Maintain all Safety Tickets as required including:
- H2S Alive (Required)
- WHIMIS (Required, provided by IronCreek)
- TDG (Required provided by IronCreek)
- First Aid Level C CPR/AED (Required)
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Bear Awareness
Special Conditions of Employment
- Must be able to lift/move a minimum of 50lb.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract and reliable mode of transportation
- Successful pre-access / pre-employment Drug and alcohol test is required
- Travel will be required.
