About the role
The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) is a Crown corporation responsible for overseeing the Canadian federal interests in four international bridge crossings between Canada and the United States. Its mandate is to provide the highest level of stewardship so that the international bridges and associated structures are safe and efficient for users. FBCL owns, manages and operates international bridges and associated structures in Sault Ste. Marie, Point Edward, Lansdowne (Thousand Islands) and Cornwall, Ontario.
Position Summary:
The Bridge Attendant collects toll fees while supporting a safe and efficient traffic flow on the Blue Water Bridge.
Ideal candidates will have a:
- Combination of High School Diploma or equivalent plus related experience;
- Comfort in the use of electronic systems;
- Prior experience in the collection of payment, including cash and point of sale systems;
- Initiative;
- Problem solving;
- Customer responsiveness;
- Decision Making/Judgement;
- Professional Manner;
- Detail orientation;
- Time management and ability to maintain focus;
- Ability to work in a 24/7 work environment;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Ability to obtain and maintain Reliability security clearance required; and,
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English. Preference to candidates that can speak, read and write in English and French.
