Silent-Aire, a rapidly growing manufacturing company dedicated to the Global Data Center Market, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Electrical Engineering Manager to lead our North American electrical engineering team. This role is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components, ensuring technical excellence, innovation, and alignment with business goals. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a growing team of 8 electrical professionals including Drafters, Designers, and Engineers.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, strategic planning, team building, and professional development.
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of electrical engineering projects across North America, including managing timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NBC, UL1995, UL60335-2-40, UL62368-1, UL2755, UL508A) and practice Safety in Design.
- Provide technical guidance, resolve complex engineering challenges, and take professional responsibility for your team’s product and performance designs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Clients, Account Leads, Project Managers, Mechanical, Structural, Controls, and Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, Operations, Quality, and Service teams.
- Drive innovation in product design and system integration for Silent-Aire solutions including AHUs, MDCs, CDUs, and Chiller Pump Skids.
- Translate client and consultant input—whether complete or limited—into effective and innovative product solutions.
- Support business development with technical input and feasibility assessments.
- Prepare and present technical proposals, reports, and findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in and lead engineering initiatives such as DFMEA, Gemba walks, Tiger Team efforts, and issue resolution.
- Develop and enhance engineering department processes, policies, and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated success in managing engineering teams and delivering complex, high-impact projects.
- Proficient in electrical design tools, simulation software, and industry standards.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation preferred or eligibility to obtain.
- Experience in electrical panel and wire harness design.
- Strong background in power distribution and equipment power systems.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
- Proven strategic planning, team development, and mentorship capabilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in data center technologies and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, PMP certification is a plus).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Energy, creativity, strong communication, design knowledge, time, project, and resource management, and a positive attitude.
