About the role
Scope of Position
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of electrical systems that are critical to the operation of a building. This role demands a high level of responsibility and accountability in managing projects from contract award to completion.
The key Responsibility areas include
- Ensure that project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards align with company policy and contractual specifications.
- Responsible for conducting material take-offs and issuing purchase orders.
- Oversee the preparation of as-built drawings as well as operational and maintenance manuals.
- Cultivate strong, professional relationships with customers and suppliers/vendors
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure that the required products and materials are accurately produced. -Ensure a project plan and construction schedules and milestones are developed and monitor progress against established schedules to include the site foreman and/or site manager
- Review contracts and negotiate any necessary revisions, changes, or additions to contractual agreements with consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Price these changes for approval from both the consultant and the owner.
- Develop progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
- Review and monitor budgets to prevent cost overruns.
- Establish and update project timelines.
- Ensure that health, safety, and environmental standards for the project meet or exceed legal requirements.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required
- Degree/Diploma in Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or other Electrical related college programs.
- Experience and knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical Systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Controls)
- Effective attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Familiar with contract documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, and codes of construction
- Strong Communication skills essential
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills with advanced diplomacy
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
- Computer skills required for MS Excel and Word, Project AutoCAD/Revit
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
- Self-motivated to continue to improve skills and further education
- Excellence in project management, organizational skills, and effective decision making
- Minimum 2 years experience managing medium size construction projects
- Experience estimating medium size construction projects.
- CFAA-Fire Alarm License an asset
This is a full-time position that offers full benefit and pension package
Qualified Project Managers will have the ability to negotiate their salary.
Starting Salary: $55,000 -$70,000
