Here’s Where You’ll Be Focusing Individual Accountabilities and Responsibilities - HRBP
- Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and solving very complex or contentious issues
- Develop and investigate multiple hypotheses, using a wide range of HR data to diagnose underlying causes of key business issues and identify opportunities to enhance employee engagement and/or improve business performance
- Build effective working relationships within the internal client organization, delivering high-quality professional services
- Project working committee HR lead; use structured change management methodologies to drive acceptance of change and to embed desired culture and behaviors
- Provide advice and guidance to managers in developing, documenting, and communicating solutions (including disciplinary action) for individual employee relations cases
- Leads investigations (including ethics line) and support managers at formal hearings if required
- Support leaders through annual HR processes (calibration, performance review, merit review); facilitating calibration sessions
- HRD designate as required
- Key strategic partner to the CoEs as it relates to the drafting of HR frameworks and tools for recruitment, performance management, development, career and succession planning, compensation and benefits, diversity, employee onboarding and off-boarding, and retention of talent
- Assist with development of HR Policies and procedures and monitor their implementation
- Collaborate with Integrated Health Management (IHM) team on employee leaves (WCB, STD, LTD) and assist with return to work as needed
- Partner with TA and hiring manager on selection of new staff
- Liaise with legal council on employee related legal matters
- Attend local mediation if required
Individual Accountabilities And Responsibilities - HR Enablement
- Identify priorities, drive, develop and support the harmonization of HR practices and initiatives across all geographies in coordination with the Operations CoE and HRBP teams
- Develop processes to create, evaluate and maintain HRBP training materials and process playbook documents to ensure consistency and that it aligns with both the learning strategy and company strategy (maintenance of a centralized HRBP resource hub)
- Integrate with HR CoE and HRBP teams on working committee capacity planning and ensure there is adequate cross functional HR representation from the HRBP team to effectively deliver on the design and implementation of new initiatives
- Represent as HRBP SME and strategic partner on special projects and HR initiatives as required
- Identify and support the development needs and capability building of the HRBP role and stay up to date on trends and pursuing opportunities to increase relevant knowledge and skills within the HRBP team. Identify development opportunities and raise the bar on bench strength
- Support the on-boarding and mentorship of new HRBP’s
- Through review and analysis of Ethics Line Complaints, identify mitigation strategies and work with stakeholders to help reduce their frequency and severity. (i.e. based on trends, severity and/or impact, integrate with HR CoE to provide insight to help prioritize and update L&D needs, update policies and/or e-learning, etc.)
What You Have To Offer
- An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- CPHR or equivalent preferred
- Able to influence and coach
- Project Management/Change Management experience
- Strategic thinking in a complex environment
- Problem solving and decision making
- Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
- Bilingual in French and English (The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with peers in other provinces to develop procedures and processes to be implemented nationally. She will also have to interact regularly with her peers in other provinces, as well as provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada)
- Experience in the development and delivery of processes, tools and programs
- Experience in facilitation and delivering presentations
