About The Role – System Engineer (Maple Ridge BC)

Our Geotechnical System Engineers have the unique opportunity to contribute to the design and development of an entire product portfolio of world class geotechnical products. Reporting to our Director of Engineering, you will be an integral part of our Engineering team that brings these products to market. You will have the opportunity to provide leadership and expertise in the design, development and support of our leading-edge geotechnical systems and instruments.

What you will be doing

  • Mechanical design owner of VW Transducers (Pressure Insert, Displacement Transducer, Strain Gauges, Load Cell Inserts) & Instrumentation (Piezometers, Pressure Cells, Settlement Systems)

o Creation and maintenance of CAD models and mechanical drawing packages
o ERP BOM/MOM management
o Owner of technical content of product Manuals and Brochures

  • Oversee SP & VW Instrumentation manufacturing processes and equipment

o Lead Root Cause Analysis, Troubleshooting, and Improvement Projects related to calibration and assembly equipment
o Review and approval of deviation authorizations for non-standard activities/as-built designs
o Owner of calibration record calculations, content, and templates & QC measurement data management systems
o Design and implementation of assembly fixturing and equipment

  • Design and execution of system level tests

o Qualification of new product designs, product improvement designs, process changes, and alternative sub-system components
o Preparation, execution, and data analysis of test plans, taking system level dependencies into consideration

  • Other Misc Responsibilities

o Customer Support - Review of irregular customer datasets or installation concerns
o Sales Support – Providing technical support for quoting of custom products/applications, creation of mechanical sales drawings

What you will bring

  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Geotechnical Experience
  • Strong communication skills and very personable

Role dimensions

  • In-office – Maple Ridge, BC
  • Fixed Term contract ending September 30, 2025; 20 hours per week
  • No travel required

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering degree (Mechanical or Mechatronics)
  • EIT or P.Eng required

Compensation

  • $100/hour CAD

(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
