Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Migration Specialist to join our Professional Services team. In this client-facing role, you will be responsible for migrating client data into the Mortgage Automator platform, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with financial records. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to upload, validate, and document datasets while supporting smooth platform transitions.
While this role is operational in nature, a strong understanding of finance, ledgers, and reconciliation processes, particularly in the private lending industry, is valuable. Comfort using scripts or automation tools to streamline data imports is a plus, though full coding experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end data migration projects from legacy systems, spreadsheets, and third-party platforms.
- Analyze, document, and map source data structures to ensure accurate migration.
- Perform full-cycle ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move client data efficiently and accurately.
- Validate and reconcile complex financial datasets, including loan details, payments, investor allocations, and transaction logs.
- Take client-provided spreadsheets or exports and load them accurately into the SaaS platform.
- Validate that uploaded data matches the source, including totals, formats, and transaction records.
- Use pre-built scripts or automation tools to efficiently process and import client data.
- Communicate with clients and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and answer data-related questions.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and verify that migrated data is correct.
- Identify and escalate any gaps or inconsistencies in client data during onboarding.
- Recommend process improvements to streamline migrations and maintain data accuracy.
- Adhere to project delivery timelines, SLAs, and support smooth transitions for clients.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in data migration, client onboarding, operations, or similar roles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, XLOOKUP, and data validation.
- Comfortable working with structured financial datasets; experience in private lending, lending platforms, or accounting is a plus.
- Familiarity with scripts or automation tools for data processing is desirable.
- Detail-oriented and process-driven with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with clients professionally.
- Ability to follow scripts, processes, and checklists to ensure data accuracy.

Mortgage Automator focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure based on experience and job-related skills. For this role, the annual salary ranges from $60,000 - $75,000.
