Job Description Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Compliance & PRM, the Airworthiness Controller will be responsible for aircraft maintenance activities from a regulatory compliance perspective. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with MCM/MPM, Processes and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) through the evaluation of personnel and work performed. Making decisions regarding quality, without prejudice from the business units, with emphasis on quality that could affect production output or personnel certification authority. Duties include, but are not limited to: Monitoring inspection and quality assurance activities to ensure they conform to Air Transat policies and regulatory standards. Compliance with documented processes. Assisting in the resolution of conflicting opinions related to the airworthiness of any aeronautical product. Responding to Transport Canada noncompliance reports. Assisting maintenance and inspection in carrying out their roles and responsibilities and supporting them in the resolution of quality issues. MPM, MCM corrections and company manual ownership: Participating in corrective actions with business units. Investigating non-compliance from TCCA and establishing root cause analysis. Guiding / coaching business units and auditors in responding to internal audit findings. Managing, editing and updating company manuals in response to change requests. Keeping the production unit abreast on new rules, regulations, and procedures by supporting the production management team for any quality issues. Investigating and resolving immediate quality concerns. Qualifications Diploma in aircraft maintenance. Aircraft maintenance engineer license. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality in an airline or aircraft maintenance organization. Good knowledge of the basic software (Excel, Word, etc...). Detail-oriented and autonomous, with a strong ability to excel in a team environment. Oral and written fluency in French and English*. *A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
