The world relies on HPS to continually conceive and produce state-of-the-art transformer technology. We currently have an opening for a Program Manager, Distribution Projects, come grow with us!

Reporting to the VP, US Distribution Sales, this role will be responsible for leading large-scale electrical transformer projects, ensuring successful delivery from initiation through completion. This role bridges technical execution with client engagement, ensuring that project outcomes align with customer expectations and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manages the full lifecycle of electrical transformer programs, including planning, execution, delivery and post-implementation support and leads a team of project coordinators.

  • Collaborates closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and translate them into actionable project plans.

  • In conjunction with the project coordinators, serves as the lead primary contact for customers throughout the project, ensuring satisfaction and alignment with contractual obligations.

  • Coordinates cross-functional teams where required including engineering, procurement, logistics, and field services to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

  • Monitors project and team performance, contract commitments, schedules and reports progress to the VP of Sales and other stakeholders.

  • Directs, monitors and provides performance feedback of the engineering team ensuring effective communication and collaboration between the teams.

  • Drives continuous improvement in project delivery processes and customer experience

  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement with an aim for cost reduction and/or quality improvement which may affect material, labour, lead time, processes, etc..

  • Supports sales efforts by providing technical insights, project timelines, and resource planning during quotation and proposal development

  • Develops designs and plans and adopt new technologies that reduce the environmental impact of our operations.

Do you qualify? We are seeking:

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of transformer manufacturing, installation and commissioning. Experience leading complex projects within the electrical industry.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 / ISO 14000 /ISO 27001 certification; lean principles and CI practices.
  • 6 to 9 years of related work experience.
  • Requires a deep expertise in managing complex projects meeting customer expectations and strong commercial orientation.
  • Sound organization, coordination and collaboration in planning, prioritization and execution skills.
  • Ability to analyze and make recommendations, provide guidance to effectively bring projects to completion.
  • Familiar with codes and standards and requirements for all countries/markets that we sell our products into as well as product applications. Proven experience keeping abreast of changing regulatory frameworks.
  • Customer and market focused, is able to deliver results while considering interests of all stakeholders, customers, vendors, employees, regulatory authorities, when taking decisions.
  • Ability to make complex decisions with sound reasoning and good judgment while upholding the values and vision of the enterprise and preserving culture.
  • An Engineering Degree/ Professional Engineering designation is an asset.
  • PMP Certification is an asset.
