North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. We offer a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities. We are looking for positive, enthusiastic, and friendly individuals to deliver effective and high-quality fitness instruction to our customers.

You will be an integral part of our dedicated Fitness Team who continually strive to make a difference in the recreation and cultural lives of North Vancouver residents by providing excellent fitness opportunities in the community.
ABOUT YOU
You are an energetic and highly motivated certified Group fitness instructor who has experience and an interest in teaching spin classes. You have an excellent understanding of class facilitation, different spin formats, a wide variety of spin workouts, and are well versed in the safe use of spin bikes. You are a team player who is committed to community recreation and has experience teaching in a community setting. You are reliable, responsive to customer needs, and excellent at building relationships. You are courteous and effective with the public and enjoy working with a diverse group of people with varying fitness levels. In addition, you are experienced in:

Creating a supportive and engaging environment for participants of all ability levels.

Adapting exercises to meet varying mobility and experience levels, with a focus on safety.

Effective communication with participants and recreation staff.

Tracking attendance and reporting any issues or concerns to your Supervisor.

Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor as a representative of North Vancouver Recreation and Culture
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will have a Group Fitness certification from a recognized provider and a current certification in Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED. Additional certification or experience in facilitating Spin classes is required.
All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a condition of employment.
HOURLY RATE:
The pay for this casual position is $34.80 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.
HOURS OF WORK:
Hours may vary and instructors should be prepared to work early mornings, evenings and/or weekends at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location.
