About Us

The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Food and Nutritional Sciences), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centers. The Faculty has more than 4,000 undergraduate students and more than 900 graduate students (200 PhD students).

Responsibilities

As a LIFT Social Media and Events Ambassador, you will play a key role in promoting LIFT’s presence on campus and online. This dynamic position blends digital engagement with on-the-ground outreach to support LIFT’s events, initiatives, and overall visibility.

  • Maintain LIFT’s online presence across social media platforms
  • Create and share engaging content to promote upcoming events, highlight student achievements, and showcase community partners
  • Regularly update digital platforms with current event information and organizational highlights
  • Collaborate with the Experiential Learning Coordinator to identify optimal event timing, venues, and target audiences
  • Maintain and manage a comprehensive event calendar
  • Assist with planning and logistics for LIFT events, including Orientation Week
  • Attend classes and visit residence halls to promote LIFT events and encourage student involvement
  • Coordinate with campus groups, including Sophs and Dons, to raise awareness and support for events
  • Build relationships with other student organizations and participate in events like volunteer fairs and promo booths
  • Assist the Experiential Learning Coordinator with other related projects and tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Must be a full time student at Western (enrolled in minimum 3.5 courses), and expect to retain full-time student status for the duration of this appointment;
  • 1 year of part time employment or volunteer experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using social media platforms to promote events or initiatives
  • Comfortable speaking to groups and, planning and promoting events
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative attitude
  • Familiarity with LIFT’s mission and student community
