Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid • 2 days/week onsite)
Duration: 12 months
Contract Type: T4 only
Pay Rate: CA$41.38 • CA$44.82/Hour
Role Mandate:

This group is responsible for the financial reporting from a governance and compliance perspective.

The scope of this work includes review portfolio valuations, coordinating external / statutory audits, coordinate / review audit and foreign tax agency engagements, preparation / review of financial statements presentation to the board of the various Client investments funds, review compliance reporting on the investment funds as well, due diligence review of accounting and custody services providers (which involves SOC reviews).
Team Structure:

The selected candidate will be working closely with the hiring manager but also alongside internal and external teams including but not limited to fund accounting, securities valuation, product implement as well as the office of the CFO of Client’s Investment Funds (in GAM), and external auditors, fund accounting and tax agency vendors.
Role Responsibilities:

Capture, prepare and analyze financial data (focusing on Investments)

Prepare BOD reports from a variety of sources
-
Review financial statements
-
Assist with financial presentations to CFO
-
Due diligence reviews of vendors (including SOC review)

Ensuring compliance (compliance reporting and governance)

Review and with key accounting standards
Must Have Skills:
-
Post-secondary graduate (specifically in accounting, commerce or finance)
-
CPA designation a huge advantage
-
Accounting background (5+ years experience), in the financial sector preferred

Project and vendor cost analysis
-
In-depth financial data preparation and analysis
-
Good Investment and Financing experience / exposure an asset
-
Investment technologies
-
Proficiency in the use of MS Excel
-
Familiar / working knowledge of Access DB an asset
Nice to Have Skills:
- Accounting designation
- MS Access
- Bloomberg
- Bank/FI experience
