Position Summary

The Venue Services Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. This includes ensuring all areas remain free of debris and clutter, as well as properly storing, using, and maintaining all chemicals in compliance with WHMIS standards.

Key responsibilities include transporting goods and equipment between venues, managing inventory levels, and ensuring that all products are properly stored and accounted for. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

This position is a casual-part-time position that will require the successful candidate to work flexible hours throughout the week. Scheduled hours may be 0 – 40 hours per week with no guarantee of hours based on the operational needs of the team.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver event assets to required venues by operating a van and cube truck
  • Operate a forklift and power equipment to transport assets
  • Maintain assets through repairs, replacements, and theft prevention measures
  • Keep asset storage areas clean and organized
  • Coordinate service equipment with other user groups and return equipment after events
  • Remove waste, compost, and recyclables
  • Conduct physical inventory counts of consumable and non-consumable products
  • Assist with shipping and receiving various types of deliveries
  • Perform laundry duties as required
  • Complete physically demanding tasks, including bending, standing for long periods, maneuvering stairs, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs

Qualifications & Education Requirements

The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Class 5 Driver’s License (Non-GDL) required
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a copy of a clean driver’s abstract
  • Experience successfully managing inventory amounts to a targeted level
  • Forklift certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well within a team environment
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet production schedules
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve issues
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow through on tasks
  • Visual and color acuity required
  • WHMIS certification is required

Working Conditions

  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Continuous movement, including standing for long periods, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and bending
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, gases, odors, and animal dander
