Job Description As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of complex structural systems for building projects. Acting as a senior technical authority, you will conduct structural inspections, review construction bids, and coordinate structural work throughout construction. You will ensure full compliance with building codes and industry standards, maintain rigorous quality control, and foster strong client relationships. Your expertise will be central to material selection, project coordination, and leading project kick-off meetings with clients and multidisciplinary teams, contributing directly to the technical excellence and success of our projects.

What You Will Accomplish With Us

  • Design concrete, steel, wood, glass, or masonry structures for building projects.
  • Perform structural calculations required for plan preparation.
  • Prepare and oversee plans, specifications, estimates, technical reports, and other documentation.
  • Conduct structural inspections and building assessments.
  • Prepare contract documents and review construction bids.
  • Coordinate and supervise structural work during construction.
  • Ensure quality control while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Evaluate and recommend various construction materials.
  • Ensure all plans comply with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Facilitate project kick-off meetings with clients and other professionals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural specialization.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience.
  • Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • JHSC certification is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; French is an asset.
  • Strong interest and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
