What To Expect As the CAD Operator and Document Controller , you will be responsible for supporting our engineering team by producing precise technical drawings and managing project documentation. This role requires proficiency in CAD software and strong organizational skills to ensure accurate design output and secure document control throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a role that will require flexibility. Because it is a 24/7 operation, other shifts or schedules may be required.

A day in the life of a CAD Operator and Document Controller

  • Create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D engineering drawings using AutoCAD
  • Interpret technical specifications, site measurements, sketches, and verbal instructions to produce accurate drawings
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawings meet design standards and project requirements
  • Maintain drawing logs and ensure version control of all design files
  • Assist in preparing as-built drawings and final documentation packages
  • Manage the flow of engineering and project documentation, including purchase orders issued by the engineer team and drawings
  • Maintain document control procedures and systems (SharePoint)
  • Ensure timely distribution and retrieval of documents to/from internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Track document revisions, approvals, and ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Archive and safeguard confidential and sensitive project data
  • Perform work in according to Nestle compliance standards and Ontario bylaws.

Role Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Drafting, or related field
  • Ability to work in a multi-task environment, with multiple projects, with cross functional teams and independently
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, organization, communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Advance knowledge in AutoCAD, 3D Solidworks, MS Office, Easy Power, and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of process flows, P&IDs, SLDs, layouts, and electrical drawings
  • Preferred relevant experience in a Food, Confectionery, Ice Cream or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Filling, Packaging, Robotics and Automation environment
  • Preferred basic knowledge of structural elements, GMP building design and requirements, and production rooms
