Job purpose
The Configuration Control Generalist is responsible for creating and maintaining manufacturing information and records and represents a person for change of documents pertaining to manufacturing and inspection requirements.
Duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Configuration Control Generalist’s major activities and responsibilities include the following.
Essential Duties

Liaise between Engineering, Management and shop floor to troubleshoot and resolve specification and/or assembly problems as they arise

Create and Maintain MRP, BOMs and routings
-
Create work instructions for complex parts/assemblies
-
Collaborate with Production and support teams to identify and improve processes
-
Create and Maintain manufacturing information and records
-
Provide shop floor support and resolve quality issues (non-conformances) by providing assistance in defining and eliminating ‘root’ cause (RCCA Process)

Prepare, maintain and revise procedures, manufacturing outlines, work orders and rework cards
-
Other duties may be assigned.
Stakeholder Management
- Be a critical interface with internal manufacturing, scheduling, program management, quality and operators as required
Continuous Improvement
-
Implement appropriate processes for documenting lessons learned and sharing of best practices
-
Working with and creating processes towards streamlining order management
Travel

0% travel time will be required for this position
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing or related field
- 0-5 years relevant experience working in a Manufacturing environment
- Able to comprehend engineering drawings
- Outstanding analytical skills, and attention to detail
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Office
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
Experience with ERP, SAP, and MRP programs would be an asset
Physical requirements
The physical requirements of this job are minimal. The daily routine will entail sitting at a desk, general walking to and from meetings and conducting regular floor walks on the manufacturing floor.
