Temporary Bus Driver – Camp Position
Do you have a passion for driving and safety? Diversified Transportation is
currently seeking experienced and safety-minded Class 1 and 2 Drivers to join our team in the Wood Buffalo area.
If you are ready to work in a camp-based environment with all accommodation and
meals provided, this could be the perfect opportunity! This is a full-time temporary position transporting employees to and from job sites with a duration of approximately 2 months. Expected start date is beginning of August.
Position Details
- Competitive hourly wages with pension
- Coach Bus Drivers: $29.00 per hour + $3.15 per hour pension
- Industrial Bus Driver: $27.00 per hour + $3.15 per hour pension
- Operation will run 7 days a week
- Rotation is 14 days on / 7 days off; schedule is subject to change based on business needs
- Camp accommodation and meals provided when on shift; check out required after each rotation concludes
- Transportation to and from Fort McMurray is the responsibility of the employee
- Company-provided uniform shirts
- Unionized environment
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safety mindset to get all of our riders, drivers, and the general public Safely Home
- Perform pre and post-trip inspections
- Deliver excellent customer service to passengers and clients
- Ensure compliance with Provincial Hours of Service and adhere to all Diversified policies and procedures
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Complete and submit daily DVCR’s and FLRA’s
Candidate Requirements

Valid Class 1or 2 driver’s license

Airbrake (Q) endorsement is an asset

Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience operating motor coaches, school buses, or other similar large vehicles

Previous industrial / camp experience preferred

Familiarity and good knowledge of Fort McMurray and the surrounding area considered an asset

Ability to obtain clearance for:
- Driving Record Check (Abstract (no more than 3 demerits) and Pre-Employment Check Ride)
- Physical Demands Analysis
- Drug & Alcohol Test
- Criminal Record Check

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Teamwork and positive mindset

Flexibility to adapt to changing routes, schedules, and job assignments
