Project Controls Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Project Controls Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will support the project management team and provide leadership in monitoring project performance, ensuring accurate productivity and commodity tracking reporting, monitoring of project budgets, tracking costs, preparing financial reports, and support in mitigation strategies to ensure projects are delivered within budget and in line with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and forecast project progress and cost, with comparatives of planned to actual budgets, and cash flows.

Track and report on project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.

Prepare regular progress reports and performance reports for management and clients

Monitor and analyze project risks, trends, cost reports, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.

Assist with procurement and contract administration, including reviewing and coding of supplier and subcontractor invoices.

Coordinate, compile, and ensure timely delivery of all invoice requirements.

Collaborate with the project manager, quantity surveyors, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost tracking to our ERP software.

Evaluate and manage risks related to cost and commercial performance.

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in Project Controls, preferably in the construction sector.

Strong knowledge of Project Management, cost control principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Proficiency in cost management software and advanced use of Microsoft excel.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certification

Experience with Medium to large scale construction projects.

Rotations: 14 days in / 14 days out

Shifts: 12 hrs (days/nights), paid 11.5 hours

Location: Northwestern, BC

Flights, Meal Allowance and Camp Accommodations Provided.

Drug & Alcohol clearance required. Provided by the Employer.
