Position Summary:

Position: Telehandler/Zoom Boom Operator

Type: Full time

Location: CNRL Horizon – Pressure & Vac

Schedule: 7 on/7 off

Compensation Details:

Role Summary:

The Telehandler/Zoom Boom Operator is responsible for operating designated equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. The Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, as well as company policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate all assigned equipment in a safe and effective manner

  • Read, countersign, and enter comments into daily operator logbook

  • Must comply with work order system to include interpreting work orders, performing work requested and completing work orders per instruction.

  • Complete and document a pre-operational check on assigned equipment

  • Grease equipment as necessary

  • Ensure equipment has proper safety equipment in place

  • Keep interior and exterior as clean as possible

  • Must have the ability to work well independently while maintaining a high level of safety, respect and great communication skills

  • Loads or unloads material for a variety of departments, companies or business units as dispatched or called over radio.

  • Any required repairs to assigned equipment are communicated to maintenance personnel

  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with clients and other employees

  • Participate in Job Hazard Assessments, Field Level Risk Assessments, and tool box meetings

  • Perform other duties as assigned such as general labor or operator duties when Telehandler duties are experiencing downtime.

Education & Experience:

  • Job requirements are listed below:
    • 2-5 years Telehandler/Zoom Boom experience
    • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required
    • Clean 5-year Driver Abstract obtained within 30 days of starting work is required
    • CSO (Common Safety Orientation) certificate is required
    • WHMIS 2015 Certification is required
    • Zoom Boom/Telehandler ticket recognized by Energy Safety Canada is required
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
    • Safety conscious attitude
    • Must be willing to work in fluctuating climates (hot, cold, wet) and environmental conditions
    • Must be comfortable working in close proximity to water
    • Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test and Fit for Duty test
      • Applicants are required to be clean shaven for testing and beyond
    • All applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English
    • All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada
    • The following would be an asset to your application:
      • Crane Ticket is an asset

      • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification is an asset

      • Rigging Certification is an asset

      • OSSA Confined Space Entry and Monitor Certification is an asset

      • First Aid Certification is an asset

      • H2S Alive Certification is an asset
