The Finance Manager role is a hybrid situation with up to two days a week in the Markham, Ontario office.

The role will report to the Senior Finance Manager, Constellation HomeBuilder Systems. Key Responsibilities

Manage the overall financial reporting for the HomeBuilder portfolio and oversee adherence with all corporate finance deadlines and procedures. Analyze monthly results to provide insights into forecast variances, key performance indicators/ratios and financial statement trends

Partner closely with the Senior Leadership Team and key functional group leaders within the business unit to support them in developing their strategic plans, financial analytics, and monthly forecasts.

Partner with colleagues and finance partners to implement best practices and improve consistency of financial reporting.

Be responsible for maintaining accurate financials for business units, including:

AR aging and reporting

Billings and collections data
-
Accrue, defer, and classify revenues and expenses following CSI policies
-
Maintain accurate balance sheet account reconciliations
-
Payables management; ensure compliance with invoice approval process
-
Treasury management (cash receipt application, bank reconciliations, collections)
-
Fixed Assets Management (fixed asset additions, fixed retirement, reconciliation)

Support the Senior Finance Manager in preparing material for Quarterly Strategic Business Reviews and actively participate in discussions.

Identify opportunities for financial improvements within the business.

Assist the Senior Finance Manager with the finance integration of new businesses and identify opportunities for synergy with the existing portfolio.

Supervise a team of offshore staff accountants.

Ad hoc analysis and reporting projects as requested by senior management.
Technical And Educational Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience (must include some FP&A experience).
- Financial knowledge in the software/IT field, specifically with financial operations and day-to-day accounting.
- A strong understanding of accounting guidelines, particularly IFRS-15 revenue recognition guidelines is strongly preferred, and acquisition accounting is a plus.
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including advanced used of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Great Plains or other similar programs is a plus.
- University Degree in Accounting, CPA strongly preferred, but not required.
