About Us
Student Financial Services maintains the integrity and accuracy of student financial information throughout the student lifecycle while providing exemplary customer service. To support student and institutional success by appropriately assessing and billing tuition and student fees, collecting outstanding receivables, processing government loan and grant applications, as well as providing access to institutional financial aid through scholarships, awards, bursaries and the work-study bursary program.
Responsibilities
The Student Financial Services Officer will be a point person for student financials inquiries regarding fees, scholarships, and other financial aid. They will be responsible for performing collection activities on over $450 million in tuition and fees charged to students, will apply late payment charges when deadlines have not been met, will negotiate payment plans for extraordinary circumstances. The Officer will respond to student inquiries in person, by email, by telephone, by Salesforce, or by chat, depending on demand.
Qualifications
Education:

Undergraduate Degree, in Business Management/Administration preferred
Experience:
-
1 year of administrative experience in an office environment
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Knowledge of general office procedures
- Familiarity with financial records management
- Familiarity with Human Resources principles and practices
- Familiarity with University policies and procedures preferred
- Ability to ensure expenditures and resources are within allotments, and to make appropriate modifications when required
- Ability to foster collaboration and respect among team members
- Communication skills with confidence interacting with individuals at all levels of an organization
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to apply creativity, innovation and resourcefulness to daily work
- Customer service skills with a desire to achieve results in a professional and timely manner
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Ability to create a positive impression while interacting with others and responding to inquiries, by telephone, in person or electronically
- Results-oriented with an ability to handle many tasks and maintain a high level of individual and team performance
