Make an impact with with our International Tax team as an Intern or Co-op Student for a eight (8) month term starting in January 2026. Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing US and Canadian personal income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals (Form 1040, T1, and related schedules)
- Support preparation of foreign disclosure forms (e.g., FBAR, Form 8938, T1135)
- Assist in gathering and organizing client tax documentation and financial information
- Assist in researching tax issues related to US/Canada residency, foreign tax credits, and treaty interpretation
- Prepare client-ready workpapers with supporting documentation and calculations
- Help identify planning opportunities and assist with tax projections
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of client work during key deadlines (especially during US and Canadian tax seasons)
- Participate in internal training sessions on tax software, regulatory changes, and best practices
Skills and Experience
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major is preferred)
- Previous accounting related office experience is considered an asset
- Customer service and/or client service experience is considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, TaxPrep, TaxCyle or GoSystem) is a plus
- Strong interest in cross-border tax and personal tax planning
- Basic understanding of US and/or Canadian personal income tax systems is an asset
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
