About This Team The Fracture Clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital provides comprehensive care for patients with broken bones, dislocations, and soft tissue injuries. Our clinic manages roughly 80–100 patients daily, balancing acute and follow-up care with the precision required in an academic teaching-hospital setting. Patients are typically referred from the Emergency Department or community physicians for both acute and follow-up orthopaedic care. Treatments include casting, splinting, custom bracing, wound care, and coordination for surgical follow-up. Our multidisciplinary team of orthopaedic surgeons, residents, technologists, nurses, and clerical staff work side by side to support patient flow and ensure continuity between procedures, assessments, and recovery. Collaboration extends beyond the clinic room, with team members sharing expertise through active education, mentorship, and case discussions. The result is an environment defined by teamwork, adaptability, and clinical excellence.

In This Role You Will

• Apply aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment and prevent infection during patient care procedures
• Perform complex dressing changes
• Fit and adjust custom knee bracing and hip abduction bracing
• Apply and remove casts, splints and braces
• Provide comprehensive casting services, including specialized applications
• Educate patients and families on cast care, mobility, and recovery expectations
• Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required

Job Requirements Mandatory

• Currently registered and in good standing with the Canadian Society of Orthopaedic Technologists (CSOT)
• Successful completion of a college diploma in a related field (orthopaedic technology, kinesiology, or other health sciences program) from an accredited educational institution
• 2 years of experience working within a clinic/health environment
