The Role
BGC is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to work in our Vancouver office. In this role, you will be a part of the accounting team for our growing company. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Team Lead and the Controller, the successful candidate will be a key contributor in ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors. You will play a vital role in streamlining processes for enhanced efficiency, acting as a liaison between Accounts Payable, internal teams, and external parties, while practicing our values of One Team, Excellence, Curiosity, Common Sense and Clarity.
This role requires working in office for the first 6 months, after which a hybrid work arrangement will be available.
Responsibilities
- Review and post vendor invoices and employee expense claims
- Code and enter contractor labour and expenses
- Respond to various inquires from vendors and staff
- Reconcile and resolve accounts payable discrepancies
- Maintain and reconcile high volume credit cards
- Bank reconciliations
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs
- Participate in onboarding, training and mentoring of junior staff
- Coordinate timely and accurate month-end close
Required Education, Experience, & Competencies
- Post Secondary education in Accounting
- 2 years experience in Accounts Payable
- Experience with processing payments, bank and/or credit card reconciliations
- Attention to detail, strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills in English
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Experience with BST accounting software or Concur Expense is an asset

The estimated base salary range for this position is $60,000-$73,000 CAD per annum, however base pay will be commensurate with job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. BGC's compensation package also includes a training allowance and a comprehensive medical and dental plan.
