About the role

OVERVIEW:
Dispersa is a start-up specializing in the development of biosurfactants for use across various industries, as part of our greater mission to decarbonize the chemical industry. We are recruiting a Logistics Coordinator to support the operational flow of raw materials and finished products throughout the supply chain.

This position plays a key role in ensuring the efficient movement and storage of goods by working closely with internal teams and external partners to support production and distribution in a sustainable and effective manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Logistics Coordinator at Dispersa, you will be responsible for the following:

Logistics & Transportation

  • Coordinate logistics by managing transportation and delivery schedules for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Track shipments, manage import/export documentation, and follow up on any shipping discrepancies or delays.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain stock accuracy across multiple storage and production locations.
  • Maintain records of purchases, shipping documents, and inventory logs for reporting and auditing purposes.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Liaise with raw material suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure on-time order fulfillment and proactive issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing suppliers to support long-term procurement goals.

Procurement

  • Support procurement activities by obtaining quotes, evaluating supplier options, assisting in negotiations, and monitoring supplier performance.
  • Contribute to identifying and onboarding new feedstock suppliers based on technical and geographical specifications.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the supply chain and help implement best practices.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant environmental and safety regulations.
  • Support the Director of Manufacturing and the manufacturing team through logistics data analysis and operational reporting.
  • Provide regular updates on supply status, shipment timelines, and procurement progress to internal stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking for an independent, organized, and proactive individual who is passionate about logistics and continuous improvement in operations.

  • Post-secondary diploma or equivalent experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree is an asset but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics coordination, supply chain, or related operational roles.
  • Experience in raw material sourcing and supplier coordination is an asset.
  • Experience in international logistics, including customs coordination, is a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, start-up, or clean tech environment is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual (English/French/Spanish); exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Interest or experience in supply chain analytics, inventory management, or demand planning is considered an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Full-time: 40 hours per week.
  • Based at our Laval (QC) or Sydney (NS) facilities (hybrid model).
  • Occasional on-site presence required in warehouse or lab settings (light material handling).
