Be part of a banking experience as unique as you are. Tandia Financial Credit Union (Tandia) is actively seeking a Temporary Full-Time Manager, Community Development to join our Marketing team.
You will be based at our corporate office in Burlington, Ontario with the current hybrid schedule.

Role Preview

Reporting to the VP, Marketing & Business Development, the Manager, Community Development is a “relationship builder”, working both independently and with our Retail team to develop sustainable business relationships with new and existing members. The role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Tandia’s corporate partners and industry peers (for example, WISB, School Unions and Boards). The Manager Community Development is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with individuals and organizations in our communities that can support Tandia’s strategy. This involves the implementation of community outreach programs, organization of events, coordination of volunteers and development of strategies that will promote and demonstrate the credit union’s corporate visions and values to our members, our staff and our communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of an annual business plan to compliment both the Credit Union’s corporate goals and specifically the attraction of new business.

  • Establish partnership agreements and opportunities for business referrals.

  • Maintain contacts and develop relationships with the Boards of Education and the Unions.

  • Responsible for promoting awareness of Tandia and representing Tandia within the community by both creating and participating in community activities.

  • Responsible for presenting seminars/workshops to community groups for the purpose of membership growth and increased awareness of Tandia.

  • Coach the retail team on how to deliver financial literacy workshops and participate in community events.

  • Assist in the planning of various outreach events as well.

  • Be an advocate for Tandia in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.

  • Demonstrate ability to map out a comprehensive marketing plan.

  • Implement a proactive process for capturing happy, loyal customer online reviews.

  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.

  • Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising social media, content marketing and social advertising campaigns.

  • Monitor effective benchmarks (Best Practices) for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.

  • Other assignments, projects and duties may be required.

We are looking for someone who:

  • University Degree/College Diploma in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the financial services industry with proven experience in relationship building and business development.
  • Excellent public speaking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and in written form.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, along with strong listening and trouble-shooting skills.
  • A keen desire to meet and work with new people, develop strong relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Proven sales success in the financial industry.
  • Independent self-starter, results driven and service focused.
  • Sound financial products and market knowledge.
  • A valid driver’s license and vehicle is a mandatory requirement.
  • Current knowledge of daily market activities sufficient to discuss with clients.
  • Strong understanding of Tandia’s corporate vision, values and culture.

Other Requirements

Due to deadline and time constraints, the hours of work may extend beyond the normal work week. There can be numerous and varied responsibilities, which require constant prioritizing to ensure that all duties, are completed efficiently, accurately and on a timely basis. It is a requirement of this position to be able to perform well under pressure while working towards meeting established objectives within the set timeframes.
