JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Business Development Manager

Reports to: Senior Director, Food Service and Industrial Sales

Direct Reports: 0

Hiring Range: $110,000- $115,000

Bonus: Yes

Address: Lower Mainland

We are currently seeking a proactive, results-driven Business Development

Manager - BC - to join our Foodservice & Industrial sales team to lead new-business growth across the BC Foodservice and Industrial markets.

 

This hunter-focused role is ideal for a business development professional with

7+ years of Foodservice experience who excels at opening new doors, building a qualified pipeline, creating urgency, and converting new opportunities into profitable, sustainable growth while advancing Burnbrae’s regional and national sales plans.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, target, and secure new Foodservice and Industrial business opportunities across BC.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline through cold outreach, prospecting, networking, referrals, and market intelligence.
  • Qualify opportunities, uncover customer needs, and develop value-driven solutions that win business from competitors.
  • Establish relationships with key decision-makers, including distributors, regional chain accounts, chefs, operators, buyers, and industrial customers.
  • Lead customer presentations, business reviews, proposals, pricing discussions, negotiations, and product solution recommendations.
  • Own opportunities from first contact through conversion, ensuring successful handoff and long-term growth.
  • Partner with brokers and internal stakeholders to maximize market penetration and customer success.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline reporting, forecasting, and sales activity management.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years of Foodservice sales experience, with a strong emphasis on business development, prospecting, and new account acquisition.
  • Proven success generating leads, conducting cold outreach, qualifying prospects, overcoming objections, and closing net-new business.
  • Strong knowledge of BC Foodservice distributors, regional operators, chain accounts, and Industrial customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers and convert competitive accounts.
  • Strong negotiation, forecasting, commercial, and pipeline management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Self-starter with a high level of accountability, persistence, and drive to exceed growth targets.
  • Experience with Industrial customers, ingredients, value-added food products, or broker management is an asset.
  • Bilingual English/French is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout BC and Western Canada.
