About the role

MHIRJ is the merging of two important heritages: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and the CRJ Series program. We provide comprehensive critical operational, engineering and customer support solutions including maintenance, refurbishment, technical publications, marketing and sales activities for the global regional aircraft industry. We’re looking for a Manager-Sourcing Strategy, Risk and Contract Management to join our ranks!

Purpose Of The Role The Manager of Sourcing Strategy, Risk and Contract Management is responsible for leading a team tasked to ensure the seamless execution of sourcing, procurement, and supply planning strategies. This role focuses on supplier relationship management, contract compliance, cost management, strategic sourcing initiatives and optimization as well as integration of the value stream strategy with the market and the rest of the organization.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven strong leader with expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, and excels in managing cross-functional teams, driving supplier performance, and optimizing supply chain processes.

Here are the daily responsibilities for a Manager of Sourcing Strategy, Risk and Contract Management:

  • Manage and mentor a team Supplier Performance and Sourcing Agents/Specialists including attendance, productivity, performance and priority management for employees.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management to drive individual and team success.
  • Establish clear KPIs and objectives to measure team performance and operational excellence.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex supplier or operational issues.
  • Contribute to company’s financial success and customer satisfaction by supporting the operational teams of the value stream with supplier performance and adherence to contractual commitments.
  • Ensure supplier performance, quality compliance and contract adherence for the value stream.
  • Drive supplier development initiatives, including get-well plans and performance recovery strategies.
  • Oversee end-to-end sourcing process, including:
  • Definition of new sources of supply, including the request for proposal (RFP) process and outcome as well as Make or buy analyses
  • Manage existing contracts, including commercial communications
  • Contractual negotiation strategy and amendments, including price conditions, MOQ and lead-times
  • Handle claims process, including recovery, negotiation and amendment process.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, supplier agreements, regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Track and report on key procurement and logistics metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and operational bottlenecks.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize sourcing and contract management workflows.
  • Support the development of supplier scorecards, commodity strategies and performance reports for senior management.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication between internal teams within the value-stream.
  • Align sourcing strategies with medium-term organizational plans and cost-saving initiatives.

Here Is What Is Required To Succeed

  • 5-7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or sourcing operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, team management, supplier negotiations and contract management.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and logistics coordination.
  • Proficiency in SAP S4 HANA (Procure-to-Pay), supplier portals, and data analytics tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint).
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving goals and targets.
  • Ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on operational execution.
