About the Opportunity:
Toppan Merrill is hiring a Lead Technical Business Analyst to oversee a growing team of experiences BA’s in our product and engineering organization. This position is responsible for strategic problem solving, stakeholder engagement and long-term continuity planning for a broad portfolio of internal products and digital solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic problem-solver, taking ambiguous business and technical challenges from concept to actionable solutions.
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to identify potential solution paths, evaluate trade-offs, and recommend optimal approaches.
- Lead vendor engagement processes, including RFP development, vendor evaluation, and selection for enterprise technology solutions.
- Assess and mitigate business continuity risks across critical software and vendor relationships; develop strategies for build, buy, acquire, or alternate vendor options.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Technology Business Analysts, supporting career growth, performance management, and day-to-day engagement.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders and leadership to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements and solution frameworks.
- Navigate complex enterprise environments, leading through influence and fostering alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Maintain high-level technical literacy to evaluate integration patterns, architectures, and emerging technologies without requiring deep coding expertise.
- Support organizational initiatives in data platform development and AI adoption; bring familiarity with big data concepts and product-oriented thinking.
- Drive early-stage project efforts, operating as a mini-project leader to organize workstreams and deliver progress without formal mandates.
Skill Requirements:

10+ years of professional experience as a technical business analyst

Proven ability to operate within large, matrixed organizations and navigate complex stakeholder environments.

Experience managing and mentoring senior-level analysts; ability to handle hiring, performance reviews, and career development.

Strong understanding of system integration patterns, APIs, and architectural concepts; ability to engage in technical conversations at a high level.

Skilled at translating business needs into technical solutions and influencing decisions without formal authority.

Ability to lead initiatives from concept to execution, including vendor selection and early-stage project planning.

Exceptional ability to engage with senior stakeholders and present recommendations clearly.

Background in product management or exposure to product development processes.

Familiarity with big data platforms, data architecture, and AI-driven solutions.

Experience running RFPs and negotiating with vendors.

Prior involvement in business continuity planning for technology solutions.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to ambiguity.
