Position overview
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Communications and Design, the Team Lead - Content will develop and oversee strategy, management and execution for content on all digital channels including social media, the corporate website, and other owned content platforms. As a leader for the online voice of the airport, you will play a key role in protecting and elevating YVR’s brand and reputation, ensuring our owned communications are clear, compelling, and aligned with organizational values.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and lead YVR’s social media strategy and digital engagement
- Drive content generation through a centralized planned source and linking content to strategic outcomes including commercial revenue opportunities, key partners and issues management.
- Work with Marketing & Communications, Commercial Services, and Air Service Development teams to design and implement specific social and digital campaigns in partnership with airlines and commercial partners
- Manage content on the corporate website; this includes ensuring the website is compliant with all federal and provincial accessibility and Official Languages requirements
- Oversee digital analytics and reporting, and use data to inform and adapt strategies and tactics, as well as to evaluate whether programs are meeting their goals
- Support creation of content on internal digital platforms and partner with Manager, Internal Communications to support strategic direction and editorial planning
- Inform Crisis Communications Plan on social response to crises, train team on appropriate social response techniques, and support crisis response efforts
Key qualifications include:
- At least five years’ experience in social media marketing, content creation and implementation, supplemented by a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Digital Media or a related field, and specific training in Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and crisis response; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Advanced technical skills in web platforms, digital channel applications, and relevant software
- Expert level experience in social media with proven expertise in concept creation, planning development, delivery, and analysis of digital marketing and communications initiatives
Although not required, French language skills are an asset as we are committed to providing bilingual services to our visitors and passengers. This helps us meet federal language obligations while ensuring a welcoming experience. Candidates who do not speak French are still strongly encouraged to apply.
This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external candidates. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

Salary Range : $73,738 to $96,377 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
