AI Solutions Co-Op

LOCATION: North Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
DURATION: 4 months Co-op (Full-Time, 40 hours per week)
We are looking for a Computing Science student who have a passion for Artificial Intelligence to join us for a short-term co-op or practicum placement. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to Maven’s strategic AI initiative, working on real-world applications that directly shape our operations and future direction. You will help identify, develop, and implement AI use cases across key business areas, from optimizing operational processes to enhancing data analytics and improving client deliverables. You will also have the chance to explore developing a secure internal AI model, ensuring it meets best practices for data privacy and security.

Responsibilities:
This role will collaborate with our operations, project delivery, and leadership teams, reporting to the Director of Corporate Services. Core responsibilities include:
- Research and identify high-impact AI use cases relevant to Maven’s business
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather requirements and validate solutions
- Assist in designing and implementing proof-of-concept AI solutions
- Explore development of a secure, internal AI model tailored to Maven’s needs
- Develop staff training materials to foster an AI-first mindset
- Support documentation of workflows, processes, and AI-related policies
- Present findings and recommendations to the leadership team
Who We Are Looking For:
- Currently enrolled in a Computing Science, Data Science, or related degree program.
- Strong understanding of AI concepts, machine learning, and data analysis
- Knowledge of Python or similar programming languages
- Familiarity with AI tools, frameworks, and cloud-based platforms is an asset
- Strong problem-solving, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively
- Interest in applying AI to real-world infrastructure, utilities, or consulting projects

Compensation:
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. The salary range for this role is from $22 to $26 per hour.
Note:
This position is funded in part by a wage subsidy program, and preference will be given to candidates who are eligible to work in Canada without an international study/work permit.
