Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (35 hours per week)

About the Position:
The Tenant Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating tenant relations and housing services through working with tenants and delivering services which are able to support their tenancy on site. This position also supports tenants through connecting them with applicable and appropriate resources internally and externally.
Reports to: Housing Services Manager
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Supports the independence and self-reliance of the tenant population on the social housing site
-
Identifies the needs of tenants through connecting and fostering positive relationships with tenants
-
Organizes and coordinates programs/services which meets the needs of the tenant population
-
Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of programs and services offered at the social housing site
-
Promotes activities and services offered on-site
-
Schedules and organizes special events
-
Resolves and mediates conflicts between tenants and tenant groups
-
Liaises with external resources to connect tenants with appropriate service providers
-
Coordinates and supervises Volunteers which supports the services on the social housing site
-
Prepares and submits funding application documents for on-site programs/services
-
Assists in budgeting activities such as preparation, reporting, and control
-
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Housing Manager
Education, Training and Experience:
-
Post-secondary certification in Social Services, Social Work and/or
Social Sciences -
Minimum of 1 year experience working in program planning and coordination
-
Experience working in housing services and tenant relations
-
Experience working with marginalized populations is an asset
-
Experience working with immigrants and refugees is an asset
-
Experience in networking to collaborate with community service providers
-
Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act and other related legislations and regulations
-
Knowledge of social housing topics and issues
Job Skills and Abilities:

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to handle tenant conflicts
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Additional languages are an asset
-
Excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent conflict resolution skills

Excellent time management and organizational skills
-
Excellent technical skills in MS Office suite

Ability to establish and maintain professional relationship with tenants, staff and visitors

Ability to work under pressure and stay calm during stressful situations

Ability to handle and manage private and confidential information

Ability to prevent and respond to problems on a timely manner

Ability to work independently and part of a team
