About the role
This role, reporting to Manulife’s Head of Global Functions & Communications Strategy, will spearhead our insights, analytics and digital offerings, aligned to our Global Communications Strategy. They will partner closely with the Global Communications Strategy Team and our Global Communications Leaders to champion digital best practices, measure and track our work, ensuring our communications team are both rigorous and innovative by leveraging leading tools, reporting and measuring across channels. This role administers key digital tools and workflows (Smartsheet, Staffbase, Hootsuite), builds dashboards and recurring reports, synthesizes data, enables teams through training and governance that informs communications strategy and optimizes performance. This individual will be curious, embracing new technology advance team processes and digital usage, in coordination with Manulife’s AI-powered organization strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Analytics, measurement & reporting: Define measurement approaches and KPIs aligned to Global Communications goals; establish consistent reporting methodologies across channels, campaigns, and regions, creating reports in PPT, Excel, and PowerBI. Produce recurring performance reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly) and executive-ready readouts; create and maintain dashboards that highlight trends, insights, opportunities, and risks.
- Insights & recommendations: Translate data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations to improve content strategy, channel performance, employee engagement, and campaign outcomes.
- Digital tool oversight and governance: Serve as product owner/administrator for Smartsheet, Staffbase, Public Relay, and Hootsuite for Global Communications, working closely with the Global Technology team—configuration, user access, taxonomy/tagging standards, and workflow optimization. Establish guidance, templates, and best practices for consistent use (e.g., naming conventions, metadata, publishing/approval workflows, reporting tags, and documentation).
- Distribution lists and mailbox governance: Establish best practice maintenance, moderation, and ownership structure, working with the Global Communications Leadership Team to ensure we have clarity and rigor around our distribution lists and shared mailboxes for our executive leadership teams and Global Comms team. This includes consolidating and adding moderation, as needed.
- Training & enablement: Develop and deliver training for team members and contributors who use the tools; create how-to resources, office hours, and onboarding materials; ensure adoption and compliance with standards.
- Stakeholder partnership: Collaborate with segment teams, global leads, and practice areas, ensuring aligned on needs for tools, data, and reporting, to pull bespoke insights and analytics by campaign.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in analytics, communications, marketing, business, information systems, or a related field.

6+ years of relevant project management experience, understanding of corporate communications and digital tools a must.

Experience in communications, marketing, digital analytics, or a related insights function, with demonstrated ability to translate data into decisions.

Hands-on experience with reporting and dashboarding (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
-
Experience administering, managing, or governing digital collaboration/publishing tools—particularly Smartsheet, Staffbase, Adobe Analytics, and/or Hootsuite (or comparable platforms).

Demonstrated ability to develop training materials and deliver training to diverse audiences.

Experience with social media listening and performance measurement, including synthesis of qualitative and quantitative insights.

Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex analyses clearly to non-technical audiences.

Strong project management and stakeholder management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Experience supporting global, matrixed communications teams and tailoring reporting for executive audiences.

Experience building measurement frameworks for executive communications, employee communications, and/or issues management.

Familiarity with UTM strategy, web analytics concepts, and content performance measurement.

Salary range is expected to be between
$73,725.00 CAD - $122,875.00 CAD
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
