About the role

Department: Engineering & Environmental Technologies, Skilled Trades

Campus: Barrie Classification: Academic Posting Date: July 28, 2026 Salary Range: $72.56 - $159.79 per hour Status: Part-time Effective Date: September 2026 Reporting to the Associate Dean, the incumbent develops and delivers courses in the Engineering Department with a focus on Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM). Courses may be scheduled and delivered during the day or evening at the Barrie Campus. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and delivering CAD and CAM courses in Engineering programs including Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics programs
  • Developing and delivering appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
  • Incorporating a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
  • Evaluating student learning progress / academic achievement
  • Participating in program and college activities as required
  • Participating in program revision and renewal activities as required
  • Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in an Engineering related field;
  • Course development and teaching experience for CAD and CAM related courses at the post secondary or within an adult learning environment;
  • Minimum of 5 years recent and relevant engineering professional experience;
  • An equivalent combination of education and / or professional practice may be considered in the total experience required;
  • Computer literacy in MS Office Suite;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Commitment to life-long learning;
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students;
  • Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies;
  • Teaching and Training Adults certification is an asset;
  • The ability to teach in more than one subject / program area is an asset Acceptable proof of education (degrees, credentials) from recognized post-secondary institutions and Provincial Apprenticeship Board, or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of the selection process.
