Overview
To ensure that all products leaving the manufacturing facility meet design specifications, quality standards, and installation requirements, while proactively preventing non-conformities through effective inspections, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Quality Control on the Shop Floor
-
Conduct in-process and final inspections of signage and architectural products before shipping.

Verify that each unit matches design specifications, client requirements, and installation drawings.
-
Identify, document, and report any deficiencies, defects, or deviations from standards.
-
Approve or reject products based on established quality criteria.
-
Root Cause Analysis & Prevention
-
Investigate the root cause of non-conformities using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram).
-
Collaborate with Production, Design, and Installation teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
-
Maintain a non-conformity log and track the effectiveness of corrective measures.
-
Recommend process or material changes to eliminate recurring quality issues.

Cross-Department Quality Handover System

Develop and implement a “department-to-department” quality sign-off process, ensuring that:

- Each department verifies and approves work before passing it forward.
- All work meets project specs, documentation requirements, and visual standards.

Train department leads and staff on handover inspection criteria and the importance of internal quality assurance.

Field Installation Readiness
-
Ensure products are fully compliant with installation requirements to minimize adjustments, modifications, or delays on-site.

Provide clear installation notes or flags when special handling or sequencing is needed.

Continuous Improvement & Training
-
Propose and lead quality improvement projects to reduce NCs and rework.
-
Provide quality awareness training for production staff, focusing on:

- Specification compliance.
- Common defects and how to prevent them.
- Importance of first-time-right production.

Stay up to date with industry best practices in signage and architectural fabrication quality.
Performance Metrics

Reduction in non-conformities per month.
-
Reduction in rework hours and re-shipping costs.
-
Percentage of products passing final inspection without defects.
-
Number of installation site issues reported.
-
Employee compliance with handover sign-off process.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in manufacturing quality control, ideally in signage, architectural products, or related industries.
- Training or certification in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, and finishing techniques.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Proficient in root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively across departments.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Authority
- Authority to stop production or shipment of products that do not meet quality standards.
- Authority to request rework or adjustments before release.
- Authority to recommend changes in processes or materials to improve quality outcomes.
