The CFIS Business Consultant plays a key role in representing Co-operators Financial Investment Services (CFIS) and Dealer Operations and acts as the SME to lead project-based assignments and tasks in relation to the wealth management business. They are responsible for the development of strategic plans, identification and coordination of requirements, responsibilities and accountabilities and business readiness tactics for their team’s successful execution of the project. develop/lead/facilitate and/or recommend actions and activities to increase awareness, knowledge, ability and to drive faster adoption and to ensure that business results are achieved. This role works closely with leaders, internal and external stakeholders, and other business units within the organization to ensure the project charter, strategy and impacts are understood, gaps have been identified, and actionable implementation plans have been defined.

How you will create impact:

  • Work closely with the AVP and Manager of CFIS Operations, senior leaders; internal and external business areas and stakeholders to define, identify and understand the overall strategy; goals and objectives and business need.

  • Keep abreast of the competitive market and investment funds of competitors, including consulting on, and creating awareness of challenges, industry trends, legislative changes, and their impacts.

  • Act as a subject matter expert, as well as provide support to the subject matter expert(s) on projects that involve or affect CFIS Operations.

  • Provide highly advance support for the development and execution of strategic CFIS and Wealth initiatives.

  • Work closely with CFIS leadership, the Wealth Team, and Distribution Management teams to achieve CFIS and Wealth goals through implementation of solutions for all CFIS and Wealth needs.

  • Manage multi-stakeholder relationships to ensure consistent and efficient execution of plans.

  • Build wealth strategic business plans, including determining goals that assess and improve the wealth business model, segmenting and defining ideal clients and providing input to enhance client experience.

  • Act as a point of contact to assist advisors and team members with complex situations, escalations, and complaints.

  • Research relevant information used to resolve unique situations and collaborate to determine best course of action.

  • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with internal and external business partners.

  • Prioritize and monitor outstanding workloads to ensure that the team is meeting/exceeding service level targets.

  • Draw on knowledge and prior experiences to coach and guide team members to encourage individual high performance and productivity and to enable them to handle situations.

  • Provide continuous feedback and updates to management on development of team members, concerns and recommendations that affect interim and performance reviews, promotions, and terminations.

  • As a project resource assist in development and review of systems, policies, and procedure.

  • Support the development of new procedures and processes as it relates projects and provide input to procedure manuals as required.

  • Skilled in technology and software relating to communication, presentation, databases, web-based products, audiovisual, and virtual meetings.

  • High proficiency with Outlook, WebEx, Excel, and PowerPoint.
