This isn’t a “steady state” role. It’s the seat where operations and commercial strategy converge, the bridge between execution and growth.
The Big Picture
Our client has built a national platform with a diversified product portfolio, multi-site manufacturing, distribution, and retail operations. They own the full value chain (end to end) and now they need a COO who can orchestrate the system while driving market-facing growth.
This is an opportunity to oversee the entire operational and commercial ecosystem : supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, sales execution, and P&L responsibility. You’ll ensure every decision fuels growth, profitability, and market leadership. If you’re looking for predictable and simple, this isn’t it. This is regulated, complex, and competitive. What You’ll Own
- Set the Operational & Commercial Strategy: Define and execute the roadmap that drives growth, efficiency, and market expansion.
- P&L Leadership: Own budgets, forecasts, revenue levers, and profitability, ensuring operations and commercial delivery are fully aligned.
- Oversee End-to-End Supply Chain: From planning and sourcing to manufacturing, packaging, distribution, and customer delivery.
- Commercial Execution: Partner with sales and marketing to ensure the supply chain directly fuels customer satisfaction, revenue, and margin improvement.
- Run Multi-Site Operations: Drive automation, yield, and throughput improvements across a national footprint.
- Compliance & Quality: Ensure bulletproof adherence to regulatory standards while delivering best-in-class quality and service.
- Capital Projects: Oversee expansion, modernization, and automation initiatives with ROI front and center.
- Talent Leadership: Build and inspire a high-performance team across operations, supply chain, and commercial functions.
What We’re Looking For
- 20+ years of progressive leadership in supply chain, operations, and commercial roles, CPG, food & beverage, agriculture, or other regulated industries strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-site, multi-region operations in complex environments.
- Proven ability to deliver both operational transformation and commercial growth .
- Strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, ERP, S&OP, and continuous improvement.
- Track record of P&L accountability and market-facing decision-making.
- Comfort balancing boardroom strategy with on-the-ground execution.
- Degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA an asset).
- Willingness to travel regularly across Canada.
