JOB SUMMARY:
At Merit Kitchens, the Designer – Sales Representative is the first point of contact for retail and commercial clients, both in person and virtually and is responsible for generating revenue through sales as a brand ambassador. You will also be responsible for developing detailed plans and 3-D models.
Designer and Sales Representative:
- Set and achieve personal weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Prospect and engage with new potential clients focusing on homeowners and builders.
- Connect by phone, email, or video call to potential leads and find opportunities to quote on jobs.
- Maintain and expand the database of prospects.
- Consult with clients to determine needs, preferences, safety requirements, and purpose of space.
- Develop detailed plans and 3-D models using computer-assisted design 20/20 software.
- Develop plans, elevations, cross sections and detailed drawings, and advise on selection of colours, finishes, and materials.
- Estimate cost and materials required.
- Prepare plans and specifications for the final interior designs in accordance with current practices and codes.
- Ensure complete information is kept with calls-to-action, complete profile information, sources, and so on.
- Attend meetings with potential clients and referral partners.
- Achieve monthly sales targets for showrooms.
- Prioritize Merit Line as primary sales goal and target market.
- Track existing client interaction and follow through to complete the sales cycle.
- Coordinate and work with other Sales/Design professionals and provide support when required.
- Generate leads by reaching out to diverse markets and turn these leads into sales.
- Adopt excellent communication methods and effective sales approaches/methodologies.
- Build a strong network by attending industry events, trade shows, and conferences to stay up to date with current and upcoming trends, market conditions, etc.
- Track and report: sales, quotes, and leads on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, discussing and reviewing these with your team lead.
- Creation and modification of kitchen designs using 20/20 software.
- Answer questions about design, quotes, orders, and products for our dealers.
- Manage incoming calls, utilizing computer technology to handle high call volumes.
- Generate quotes using QP software.
- Ensure showroom is in clean and operational condition.
- Comply with company policies & procedures.
- Resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customer’s complaint; determine the cause of the problem; select and explain the best solutions to solve the problem; expedite corrections or adjustments; follow up to ensure resolution.
- Provide support with customer escalations and communicate with appropriate personnel.
- Promote Merit Kitchens core values, mission, and vision at every opportunity in this role.
- May create reports for Management.
- The Designer and Sales Representative may perform other duties delegated by management.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience of sales and business development experience in a related industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency with 20/20 design software is considered an asset.
- Proven understanding of product knowledge, the industry, and area of service is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
- A team player that can work well around people and honour our customer first vision.
- Professional appearance and telephone manners.
- Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Well organized problem solver with sharp detail-oriented abilities.
- Flexibility with working hours, including weekends.
- Have your own vehicle with a valid driver’s license (car allowance is provided).
- Positive can-do attitude.
- Meticulous record keeping abilities.
