The Public Guardian and Trustee of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly organized, energetic individual with excellent organizational and prioritization skills to perform accounting and administrative duties in the Accounting Unit.
In this position, you will be responsible for performing receptionist duties, assisting with the opening, scanning and distributing of mail to the staff, performing pre-audit functions on client expenditures, including reconciling balance forwards and current charges and on client income including reconciling receipt of income to the deposit; processing and recording expenditures and income; gathering and compiling financial information relevant to investment decisions on client segregated investments including rates or return, asset mix and fees; preparing a diverse variety of correspondence regarding client segregated investment and personal taxation matters including correspondence with the Canada Revenue Agency and financial advisors; and performing bank deposit and asset updates as required.
Our candidate of choice will have strong accounting and computer skills, knowledge of office and filing procedures, the knowledge and ability to prepare and compose correspondence using clear and concise language, and experience processing complex income and expense transactions in a high volume processing environment. You must be able to reference, interpret and apply regulations and policies as required. We are looking for a candidate that can work independently but also as a team player. You will exhibit leadership and professionalism, and be responsible and accountable.
Typically, the knowledge, skills and experience required for this position is obtained through completion of formal diploma level education in accounting or business administration with related accounting work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
